Hey everyone, glad to be back.

My three months in Central America are finally over. I returned back to England 2 weeks ago with lots of memories of my expedition across the continent and volunteer work in Nicaragua and Costa Rica. If you're interested to see what I've recorded from my journey you can visit my blog and flickr acc. I brought an old Olympus Trip 35 (point & shoot camera from the 70's) and an A6 size Moleskine sketchbook.

BIG UPDATE

My God, it's been almost a year now since I updated my journal. Well the truth is, I haven't been very active (or active at all for that matter) on deviantart since the start of Summer last year. I'm not thinking of renewing my subscription, which doesn't seem to work anyway, and if you'd like to keep updated or see what I'm doing/working on then drop by my blog: Queen's Gunpowder [link] which I'm constantly updating. In fact, that's my new portfolio site as well, or call it my sketchbook.

For those who are interested (if any) lol I'm currently on a gap year. Spent the last couple of months finding work here in London, but not been too lucky with the current credit crunch. However, I've managed to raise enough money to fund my travels, which will consist of Central America, namely Costa Rica and Nicaragua where I'll be working on community and environmental projects, with an organisation, in the more indigenous parts. That will be followed by a 280km trek which will end by the Osa Peninsula. This will all last roughly 3 months. After that i will travel to Mal Pais where I'll spend my last week in central America in a hammock on the beautiful beach sketching in my notebook and smoking my cigar. After that I come back to the miserable England and try to find work again to fund another planned trip to Borneo, Malaysia in August. Then I finally start university in September, where I'll be studying Architecture at UCL and so I commence my journey into the future...

If anyone (that I knew closely) would like to keep in touch, you can find me on fb under: Dean Hedman (there should hopefully only be one).

Good luck, and farewell.

Just making an update here. A lot has happened since I posted my last journal. An awesome new year and christmas to start with. Then I had many a-level exams in January, got the results in March and found out I'd done much better than I expected. Then shortly after, I turned 18, and had something organised in London, went to Cocoon, tried the so famous Watermelon martini haha and celebrated it with friends. In February I had a few university interviews, but cancelled my ucas application shortly after, because I've now planned on taking a (productive) gap year. Not sure where yet, but I'm looking into some conservation projects and expeditions in Costa Rica and Guyana for the later half of my gap (dry season). During the first half I'll be (trying) to find some work in London. I recently got hold of a Holga camera, and some expired film so took it with me to London to test it out, and got soem fairly decent results but I still have a long way to go to get the best possible results. Anyway, school starts in a week time then it's only 5 more weeks left, then study leave with exams, then leavers ball, then end of term service/assembly and then I'm a free bird for the rest of the summer. XD

Another update

Hi, I've been extremely busy with so many things going on that I haven't had much time to spend on DA. I can see I've got a lot of favs, comments, adds etc. recently and I really want to get back to you (just don't want you to think that I'm ignoring you n_n) and I promise to get back to you as soon as I have more time on my hands. University applications have been going well so far, I've had an interview which I think went well, had an offer from another uni, been invited for an interview at another after having sent them my assessment task, and sending off my last application later this week (once I get my printed portfolio sorted). I won't be uploading anything new for a while now, but appreciate all the support I've been given. Thank you all. n_n

I've been really busy during the past two months, so sorry for being innactive. My uni application forms have now been sent off, so hopefully I'll be having my interviews round about november-december. I'm quite looking forward to them as they're one step closer to uni, except I'm shitting myself just thinking about them. This is a short return, but I'd just like to thank you all for your support, really means a lot to me. <3 I'll check out your new deviations.

Oh and my brother, =limonrouge recently joined deviantart and has been trying to work his way up the ladders so he asked me if I could feature him lol. So make sure to check him out:
